Bringing Japanese Quality
to Tables Worldwide.

Nissou Ibaraki creates ongoing value by building

new connections across the globe.

To be completely honest, Nissou Ibaraki all started with my beloved pet.

It didn't begin with a grand vision like

"I want to start farming" or "I want to export goods.”

I used to buy sweet potatoes from Ibaraki Prefecture in bulk

just to feed my pet.

However, as soaring fertilizer costs pushed prices up,

purchasing them at the usual price became increasingly difficult.

That’s when it hit me:

“Alright, I’ll grow them myself!”

And just like that, Nissou Ibaraki was born.

ーーーーーーー

However, farming was by no means easy.

Every day was a steep learning curve,

as we sought guidance from agricultural mentors and professional farmers.

Along the way, we realized something key

“Growing vegetables is just like raising children.”

The more care and effort you pour in, the more they give back.

That’s why we nurture every single crop

with the same deep affection as if they were our own children.

ーーーーーーー

The more we learned, the more fascinating farming became.

From attending agricultural events to mastering farm machinery and securing new farmland—

as we kept pushing forward, our circle of passionate teammates grew.

By the way, I have a bit of a unique quirk.

I wanted our machinery to look cool when viewed from above by drones,

so I secretly painted the roofs gold—just between us!

Because above all, we never forget to have fun.

ーーーーーーー

Because I travel abroad frequently for business, whenever I mentioned that I had started farming,

people would often ask: “Is there any way we can import Japanese sweet potatoes?”

I was deeply grateful to hear such interest.

Just imagining the produce we raised with so much time and care

landing on dining tables around the world made my heart race with excitement.

That is why we don’t aim to deliver our beloved produce to just anyone.

To those with whom we build a genuine connection—

we want to deliver not just our produce, but the passion behind it.

That is what Export Business means at Nissou Ibaraki.

01 Cherishing Connections Between People.

We believe that human connections are the true starting point of every business. By valuing each relationship and building trust step by step, we believe that this accumulated trust creates new opportunities and value.

This philosophy has been cherished without change for over 30 years since the founding of our parent company, Nisso Bisou, and continues to live on here at Nissou Ibaraki.

02 Delivering Value, Not Just Price.

We do not aim to create products that are chosen on price alone. What matters most to us is that our customers feel the true value—including the quality and the passion behind every product. Rather than simply delivering goods, we want to share them with those who truly understand and appreciate their worth.

03 Embracing Challenges to Shape the Future.

We are a company that focuses on "how we can make it happen" rather than "why we can't." We constantly ask ourselves, "Is this good enough?" Never settling for the status quo, we place great importance on evolving every single day.

People often ask us, "Why start farming when you already have a stable company?" Yet every new challenge has brought inspiring encounters and valuable insights. We will continue to enjoy taking on challenges as we create new value for the future.
